Charlotte CPA FAQ: Accounting, Business Tax & Pricing

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often.

How much does outsourced bookkeeping cost in Charlotte?

At Providence Consulting CPA, monthly Bookkeeping starts at $295/month. The final fee depends on your transaction volume and is confirmed after a fit call.

How much does an outsourced controller cost in Charlotte?

Our Outsourced Controller tier starts at $745/month and includes everything in Bookkeeping plus balance sheet reconciliations, A/R and A/P review, process and controls improvement, and tax coordination. The final fee is based on the scope agreed after a fit call.

How much does a fractional CFO cost in Charlotte?

Our Fractional CFO & Advisory Services tier starts at $1,250/month and includes a structured month-end close, planning, decision support, KPIs and quarterly business reviews. The final fee is based on your needs and confirmed after a fit call.

Can you catch up my books if I'm months behind?

Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping is quoted as a one-time project based on how many months need cleanup and the condition of your records. Once the books are current, you move onto a monthly plan. We provide the quote after reviewing your situation.

Why is the final monthly fee scoped after a fit call?

No two businesses are identical. The starting prices ($295, $745 and $1,250 per month) are the baseline for each tier; after a fit call we confirm your volume, scope and needs so the monthly fee matches the work. See the tier comparison or our process.

What business tax returns do you prepare?

We prepare S-corporation (Form 1120-S), partnership and multi-member LLC (Form 1065) and C-corporation (Form 1120) returns, coordinated with your books.

Can you help me decide whether to do a Roth conversion?

Yes. As part of retirement tax planning we model whether a Roth conversion may make sense and how much to convert in a given year, based on your current and projected tax brackets, the cash available to pay the tax and your time horizon. A conversion is taxable in the year it happens, so we look at it over several years rather than one. We do not sell investment products or manage portfolios.

Do you publish prices?

Yes. Starting prices for our accounting tiers are listed on the Accounting Services page. Your final fee depends on your volume, scope, and needs.

What is your primary focus?

Accounting services (bookkeeping through Fractional CFO & Advisory Services) and business tax for growing SMBs — with retirement tax planning for owners when long-horizon questions arise.

Do you prepare individual tax returns?

Yes. We prepare individual returns for business owners and their families. We also help individuals with complex tax positions including rental properties, equity compensation, multi-state filing, or self-employment income. Space fills up during tax season, so reach out early.

Do you offer audits or reviews?

Providence works with partner firms to provide attest services including audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed upon procedures (AUPs).

Are you only in Charlotte?

We are based in Charlotte, NC, and focus on Greater Charlotte — and we also work with remote clients nationwide.
